The Split Leagues function within ***DRIBL ***allows League Administrators to divide an existing league into multiple new leagues once the original competition has finished. This tool makes it easy to reorganise teams, move them into new divisions or groups, and configure each new league with the correct settings, standings, and transfer options. You can define how competition data carries over and set precise criteria for where each team is placed in the newly created leagues.


Before Splitting a League, you will need to:

1. <u>[Create a competition](https://help.dribl.com/space/LA/16777262)</u>
2. <u>[Create a league](https://help.dribl.com/space/LA/143556609)</u> within the competition.
3. Configure your** **<u>[Football Calendar](https://help.dribl.com/space/LA/142475305)</u>.


Once these steps are completed, you’ll be able to utilise the Split Leagues function.


## How to Split Leagues in *DRIBL*

1. <u>[Login](https://app.dribl.com/signin/)</u> to ***DRIBL***
2. Navigate to the **Leagues **Tab
3. Click  (**Bulk Actions**) from the task menu
4. Select **Split Leagues**
5. From the dropdown, select the League(s) you to split
6. Enter the Number of Leagues you want to split into (e.g., 2, 3, 4, etc.).
7. Click **Next** to continue.
8. **Configuring** the new Leagues. Complete the steps below for each new League.

- Click **Edit League Configuration**
- **League Name:** Enter the new League Name
- **Age Group**: Select the appropriate age group
- **Division**: Select the division number
- **Transfer Options**: Choose which competition data transfers into the new league

| Points | Transfers competition points |
| Goals | Transfers goals for/against |
| Adjustments | Transfers manual points adjustments |
| Played | Transfers number of games played |
| Won | Transfers wins |
| Lost | Transfers losses |
| Drawn | Transfers draws |
| Forfeits | Transfers forfeited matches |
| Byes | Transfers byes |

Select the options relevant to your competition setup.

9. Add Criteria for Team Placement

You must define where each team is placed within the new split league.

- Click **Add Criteria +**
- **From Position:** Enter the team's current league position
- **To Position:** Enter the position the team should appear in within the new split league
- Select the appropriate **League**
- Click **Save**

Repeat this for each team or position range required.

10. Review the New Leagues and if everything is in order, click **Reallocate** to proceed
11. Click **Return to Leagues**
