There may be occasions where a team has committed an offence that leads to a points deduction needing to be applied against the team as punishment for the offence.

The Dribl platform provides 3 methods to apply a points deduction to a team:

## Manually via the Team Offence Function

1. Select the **Teams** function
2. Utilize the search or filter functions to find the team to add an offence to
3. Within the relevant team line, select the ‘Add New Offence’ icon
4. Populate all data (as per table below)
5. Press the **Create** button

| Points to deduct | Specify how many points to deduct from the specified team |
| Disqualify Team | Tick ‘Yes’ box if the selected team is to be disqualified |
| League | Select the League that the points deduction and/or disqualification applies to |
| Note | Add any relevant supporting notes |

## Manually via a Ladder Adjustment

If a team commits an offence that leads to a points deduction, the points deduction can be applied manually using the “Adjust Ladder” function.

1. [Login ](https://app.dribl.com/signin/)to ***DRIBL ***Web Admin
2. Select the **Leagues **Function
3. Select the relevant **Competition **from the drop down list
4. Find the league that contains the team you wish to apply a points deduction to
5. In that league line options, select the **Adjust Ladder**  icon
6. Click on the **+** (Plus icon) to add a **New Adjustment**
7. Select the relevant Team, Add the Adjustment type, Amount of Points, Supporting reason for adjustment notes, Select Match Type and then click the  tick to Save the New Adjustment.

> 📝 The points adjustment will apply and reflect in the **ladders **section


## Automatically based on team meeting Offence Rule criteria 

The Dribl platform provides functionality that provides administrators the ability to create “Offence Rules” that can automatically be applied if the conditions of the create rule are met to:

a) An Individual (a match suspension) e.g. based on member picking up 5 yellow cards  (or)

b) A Team (a points deduction) e.g. based on 3 or members of the team receiving a red card.

Note - Ensure “**Team**” is selected when creating the offence rule, when configuring the **Participant Type** of the newly created Offence Rule

> 📝 If a team meets the criteria of the Team Offence Rule that was created, this automated points deduction will also reflect under the **Adjust Ladder** option of the relevant league as per above together with all other manually created points deductions.


The Dribl system will **auto generate the Team offence note** with the below information included:

Offending team name, Offence rule met, Opposition name of match, Date & Time of Event

E.g: Dribl FC, Team 3 red cards, when playing against Rovers FC Male on 8th Jan 2025 | 03:30 pm


If you wish to modify the auto generated Team offence note you can by:

1. Click the **Adjust Ladder** option of the relevant league that contains the offending team
2. Click the **Edit **icon next to the relevant offence
3. Make the required changes to the adjustment note text
4. Click the  tick to **Save **the New Adjustment.
