--- title: "Age Group Creation" canonical: "https://help.dribl.com/space/LA/16777307/Age%20Group%20Creation" format: markdown --- Age Groups are created and managed by the competition administrators who hold the role of **Body Administrator** in *DRIBL.* To create an Age Group, complete the following steps: 1. [Log in to ](https://app.dribl.com)*[DRIBL](https://app.dribl.com)* 2. Select **Age Groups** from the **Actions** menu or the main navigation menu. 3. Click **+ Create** from the task menu. The **Create Age Group** form is displayed. 4. Enter all the required information for the [Age Group Settings](https://dribl.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/LA/pages/16777307/Age+Group+Creation#Age-Group-Settings). 5. Click **Create**. ### > Macro (anchor) **Age Group Settings** | | | | --- | --- | | **Name** | Provide a name to describe the Age Group (e.g. *U10*). | | **Code** | Provide a short code for the Age Group. | | **Age** | Set the specific age for the Age Group. | | **Lower Age Limit** | Set the lower limit of the Age Group in enforcing compliance with players that can be added to a Team linked to this Age Group. | | **Upper Age Limit** | Set the upper limit of the Age Group in enforcing compliance with players that can be added to a Team linked to this Age Group. | | **Coaching Certificate** | Select whether a coach requires a Coaching Certificate. If they are not compliant in having the correct qualifications, then they are issued with a Team Volunteer card. Select from the following available options:
- **Required**: Coaching certificate is required - **Not required**: Coaching certificate is not required | | **Default Competition** | Select the default competition that the age group competes in (optional) | | **Default Match Duration** | Set the default duration of a match specific to the Age Group. | | **Default Ball Size** | Set the ball size to be used for a Team linked to the Age Group. | | **Default Field Size** | Select the default Field Size for a Team linked to the Age Group. Select from the following available options:
- **Full Field** - **Half Field** - **Mini Field** - **Midi Field** | | **Ladder Strategy** | Specify the way in which teams will be ordered on a ladder for a League. Select from the following available options:
- **Head to Head Preference**: Points, Head to Head against other teams, Goal Difference, Goals For, Goals Against, Games Won. - **Traditional Points/GD**: Points, Goal Difference, Goals For, Games Won. - **Traditional Point Average/GD: **Points Per Game, Goal Difference, Goals For, Games Won. - **Point Win Goal Difference**: Points, Games Won, Goal Difference. - **Points Fair Play**: Points, Least Red Cards, Least Yellow Cards, Least Temporary Dismissals, Point Average, Head to Head against other teams, Goal Difference, Goals For, Games Won. | | **Fixture Access** | Select the default access to fixtures for leagues linked to this Age Group.
- **Body**: Only visible to the Competition Administrators - **Public**: Visible to everyone. | | **Result Access** | Select the default access to results for leagues linked to this Age Group.
- **Body:** Only visible to the Competition Administrators - **Public:** Visible to everyone. | | **Ladder Access** | Select the default access to ladders for leagues linked to this Age Group.
- **Body:** Only visible to the Competition Administrators - **Public:** Visible to everyone. | | **By Default Generate League** | Select this option if you want to generate a League for this Age Group. | | **Visible for Following (Tournament mode)** | If you change the mode in Competitions to “Tournament”, that age group will become visible and available to follow in the Dribl App.
This option allows participants, coaches, and supporters to easily track fixtures, results, and standings for that specific tournament age group directly within the app. | | **Manually Close Match sheets** | Untick this field when you only require score recording and require the match sheet to be closed automatically. | | **Match sheet Minimum Starting Player Limit** | Set the minimum number of players required to be marked as 'Playing' on a Match Sheet for each Age Group within a League. By default, this value is set to 'Unlimited'. | | **Match Sheet Starting Player Limit** | Specify the limit on the number of players that can be set as 'Starting' on a Match Sheet linked to the Age Group via a League. The default value is ‘Unlimited’. | | **Match Sheet Minimum Available Player Limit / Match Sheet Maximum Available Player Limit** | Specify the number of players that can be set as 'Available' on a Match Sheet linked to the Age Group via a League. The default value is ‘Unlimited’. | | **Matchsheet Available Outfield Player Limit** | Specify the maximum number of players that can be listed as an outfield player. | | **Matchsheet Available Non-Outfield Player Limit (GK)** | Specify the maximum number of players that can be listed as a non-outfield player (GK). | | **Match Sheet Protection** | Specify the amount of time allowed after kick-off for changes to be made to the team lists on a Match Sheet linked to the Age Group via a League. The default value is ‘0’. | | **Enable General Certificates / Enable Coach Certificates** | Toggle on to select the required general and coach certificates needed for this age group. |
