A football season spans a specific duration, often corresponding to a calendar year or a portion of it. Each season serves as a container for specific football competitions, leagues and tournaments. When your Dribl tenancy is first initialised, the first Season is created for you by default. You can [modify the season settings](https://dribl.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/LA/pages/16023578) to meet your specific requirements. Having a Season created is a requirement before setting up your competitions and registering or importing members. This will ensure that your data is managed and organised effectively, leading to accuracy and integrity of the data. All competition and member data is structured such that you will be able to search, manage, report and retrieve data based on any current or historical season. > Macro (rw-ui-textbox-macro) > > **Season Creation: **Seasons are created and rolled over each year by the Dribl Support team. If you require a new season to be created, please submit a request via [help.dribl.com](http://help.dribl.com) --- ### **Update Season Settings** > ⚠️ Season settings can only be modified for an active season. Always exercise caution when modifying the start and end dates of a season once competitions have commenced. Season settings are managed by competition administrators with the Dribl access role of **Body Administrator**. ### Update Season Settings 1. [Login](https://app.dribl.com/signin/) to ***DRIBL*** 2. Select **Seasons** from the **Actions **menu or the main navigation menu. 3. Click **Edit** for the active Season - the **Edit Season** form will display. 4. Configure the relevant **season settings** as per below table 5. Click **Update**. ### > Macro (anchor) **Season Settings** | | | | --- | --- | | **Name** | The name of the Season (e.g. *Winter 2024*). This label is used to reference the season on desktop and mobile app. | | **Year** | Specify the year of the season. | | **Default Competition** | Specify the default competition for this Season. | | **Season Start Date** | Specify the start date for the Season. This is usually on or about the start of your first competition. | | **Season End Date** | Specify the end date for the Season. This is usually on or about the end of your last competition. | | **Member Update Restrictions** | Select who can update the details on a member record:
- **Body Administrators Only**: Only the Competition Administrators will have this privilege. - **Body and Club Administrator**: The Competition Administrators and Club Administrators will have this privilege. | | **Quick Image Update Restrictions** | Select who can can update member profile image :
- **Body Administrators Only**: Only the Competition Administrators will have this privilege. - **Body and Club Administrator**: The Competition Administrators and Club Administrators will have this privilege. - **Body and Club Administrators, Coaches & Managers: **The Competition Administrators, Club Administrators, Coaches, and Managers will have this privilege. | | **Sighting Restrictions** | Select who can sight member identification records:
- **Body Administrators Only**: Only the Competition Administrators will have this privilege. - **Body and Club Administrator**: The Competition Administrators and Club Administrators will have this privilege. | | **Match Sheet Referee Visibility** | Select the applicable referee allocation option:
- **Open**: Referees can self-allocate on match sheets with no restriction on the matches they can officiate. - **Locked**: Referees can officiate matches that the referee administrators have allocated to them. There is no flexibility on accessing matches they have not been allocated. - **Panel Restricted**: This mode allows for referees to view their allocated matches as well as self-allocate on match sheets with restriction applied based on panel configuration on what games they can officiate. | | **Teams and Leagues Visible to Non-Administrators** | - Ticked - Allows visibility of your competitions to the general public for the given season. - Unticked - The general public will NOT be able to view *ANY of your competitions via your public competition website. Only ***DRIBL***** **administrators will be able to view the competitions via the web app.
*When this setting is unticked, this overrides all other competition display options specified anywhere else in Dribl admin. | | **Ignore Club Registration Restrictions** | Select this option if you want to allow participants to be able to register as a Player to multiple clubs. | | **Auto-Approve Registrations (Store and External)** | Select this option to remove the requirement to approve registrations in the competition management system. | | **Allow Member Adherence** | Select this option to allow members to indicate attending or not attending for a match. | | **Match Centre - Display Referee Allocations** | - Ticked - WILL display the number of referees allocated to each match - Unticked - Will NOT display the number of referees allocated to each match | | **Referee Pay run Separate Submitted Allocations** | Select this option if you want the allocations that you submit to other branches to be clearly defined during the payrun process . | | **Use Branch Levies** | Select this option to enable Branch Levies to pay other branches for the work of allocating referees. |
