### Overview

Leagues sit under competitions and allow for different age group, gender, division, axis, field size, and rounds/ladder/finals structures. In addition, Competition Administrators can define ladder, result, and fixture visibility ensuring that non-competitive leagues are hidden from public view if required.

Leagues can be created manually or generated automatically. The system can automatically associate teams to their correct league by matching the competition, age group, division, axis, and gender of the team to the league composition. No manual reconciliation and administration are required if the grading process has verified all teams as having their information set correctly through the grading process

> 📝 The following entities need to be completed before creating Leagues: Seasons, Competitions, Age Groups and Divisions. Teams need to be completed if automatically generating leagues. Football Calendar and Timetable are not required to create/generate leagues but will need to be created to schedule matches and attach the league composition.

## **Clone Leagues**

The **Clone League** feature enables administrators to duplicate an existing league, including all its settings, structure, and configurations.
This saves time when setting up new seasons or similar league formats, ensuring consistency across competitions.

When a league is cloned, all parameters — including ladder strategy, fixture access, matchsheet settings, referee configurations, and competition rules — are copied to the new league automatically.
You can then make adjustments such as updating the league name, season, or age group as required.

### How to Clone a League

1. **Log in** to ***DRIBL***.
2. Select **Leagues** from the Actions menu.
3. Locate the league you want to clone.
4. Click **(Clone League)** from the task menu.
5. Review the copied details. Update any necessary fields, such as:

- Name
- Season
- Age Group
- Division

1. Click **Create** to finalise.

The new cloned league will now appear in your league list with all configurations replicated from the original.

> 📝 - Cloned leagues retain all original league settings, including visibility, match duration, ladder and result rules, referee setup, and field configurations.
> 📝 - Teams are **not automatically cloned**; they can be linked or allocated separately.
> 📝 - Once created, the cloned league can be edited further using the standard **Edit League** process
