**Team Officials **or designated members with the role of **Reporter** have the ability to specify the starting line-up formation for their team.

The formation visually represents a sequence of numbers that reflect how many players occupy each line of the field: defence, midfield, and attack, which dictates the team's structure and strategy, influencing both their offensive and defensive play.

> Formations are displayed on the public match centre and app only if enabled by a competition or league administrator. If formations are not used, the starting line-up will appear in a list format.
> 
> A competition or league administrator also controls when the starting line-up and formations are made visible to the opposition team and public.

## Add formation

To add a formation for a match, perform the following steps:

1. Open the ***DRIBL ***app.
2. Tap :Match_Centre: **Match Centre **from the navigation bar.
3. Locate and select the match you need to administer.
4. Tap on **Match Sheet**.
5. Select either the **Home Team** or **Away Team** option from the **Pre Game** section.
6. Tap on :Formation: from the navigation bar.
7. Tap on **Select a formation** and select the applicable formation strategy from the list.
8. For each position on the field, tap on :Circle-Plus: and select a player from the starting line-up list. Repeat this process until all positions have been populated.
9. Tap on :Back_Arrow: to return to the team sheet.
