Create an Age Group

Overview

Ensure that you have read Age Group, Division, Gender and Axis prior to creating an Age Group.

Age Groups are created by competition administrators who hold the role of Body Administrator in Dribl.


To create an Age Group, complete the following steps:
 

  1. Log in to Dribl.

  2. Select Age Groups from the Actions menu or the main navigation menu.

  3. Click +(Create) from the task menu. The Create Age Group form is displayed.

  4. Enter all the required information for the Age Group.
     

    Name Provide a name to describe the Age Group (e.g. U10).
    Code Provide a short code for the Age Group.
    Age Set the specific age for the Age Group.
    Lower Age Limit Set the lower limit of the Age Group in enforcing compliance with players that can be added to a Team linked to this Age Group.
    Upper Age Limit Set the upper limit of the Age Group in enforcing compliance with players that can be added to a Team linked to this Age Group.
    Coaching Certificate

    Select whether a coach requires a Coaching Certificate. If they are not compliant in having the correct qualifications, then they are issued with a Team Volunteer card. Select from the following available options:

    • Required: Coaching certificate is required
    • Not required: Coaching certificate is not required
    Default Match Duration Set the default duration of a match specific to the Age Group.
    Default Ball Size Set the ball size to be used for a Team linked to the Age Group.
    Default Field Size

    Select the default Field Size for a Team linked to the Age Group. Select from the following available options:

    • Full Field
    • Half Field
    • Mini Field
    • Midi Field
    League Strategy The default number of time teams that are linked to this age group will play each other in round robin competitions for a League.
    Finals Strategy

    The default finals composition teams will take part in that are linked to this Age Group for a league. Select from the following available options:

    • Finals - First Four
      Preliminary Final 1: 1st vs 2nd
      Elimination Final 1: 3rd vs 4th
      Preliminary Final 2: Loser Preliminary Final 1 vs Winner Elimination Final 1
      Grand Final: Winner Preliminary Final 1 vs Winner Preliminary Final 2
    • Finals - First Four Semi Finals Only
      Semi Final 1: 1st vs 4th
      Semi Final 2: 2nd vs 3rd
      Grand Final: Winner Semi Final 1 vs Winner Semi Final 2
    • Finals - Grand Finals Only
      Grand Finals: 1st vs 2nd
    • Finals - Closely Matched: Most closely matched teams play their own final (1st vs 2nd, 3rd vs 4th, 5th vs 6th, etc).
    • First 5 Balanced
    • First 5 Unbalanced
    Ladder Strategy

    Specify the way in which teams will be ordered on a ladder for a League. Select from the following available options:

    • Head to Head Preference: If teams are on the same points, the results between the teams takes first precedence of identifying ladder position followed by goal difference (+/-, most goals, most wins)
    • Traditional Points  / GD: If teams are on the same points, goal difference (+/-, most goals, most wins) determines the ladder position.
    • Traditional Point Average  / GD
    Fixture Access

    Select the default access to fixtures for leagues linked to this Age Group.

    • Body: Only visible to the Competition Administrators
    • Public: Visible to everyone.
    Result Access

    Select the default access to results for leagues linked to this Age Group.

    • Body: Only visible to the Competition Administrators
    • Public: Visible to everyone.
    Ladder Access

    Select the default access to ladders for leagues linked to this Age Group.

    • Body: Only visible to the Competition Administrators
    • Public: Visible to everyone.
    By Default Generate League Select this option if you want to generate a League for this Age Group.
    Generate Match Sheets Select this option if you want to generate a Match Sheet for a League that is linked to this Age Group.
    Match Sheet Starting Player Limit Specify the limit on the number of players that can be set as 'Starting' on a Match Sheet linked to the Age Group via a League. The default value is ‘Unlimited’.
    Match Sheet Minimum Available Player Limit Specify the number of players that can be set as 'Available' on a Match Sheet linked to the Age Group via a League. The default value is ‘Unlimited’.
    Match Sheet Protection Specify the amount of time allowed after kick-off for changes to be made to the team lists on a Match Sheet linked to the Age Group via a League. The default value is ‘0’.
  5. Click Create.
